NordiconAmp's outdoor distribution panels are fully integrated distribution systems that are widely used in Scandinavia, with annual sales of approximately 50,000 units. The system is designed and certified in accordance with the international standard IEC 61439-5. This standard sets requirements for the complete installation and verifies, among other things, electrical safety, temperature rise, short-circuit resistance, mechanical strength, and operational reliability.
An important advantage of this concept is that the main power distribution is located outside the building. As a result, an existing main distribution panel can often be reduced to a sub-distribution panel for the internal installation. Power expansions take place in the outdoor cabinet, meaning that costly and extensive modifications to the existing indoor installation are usually not necessary.
In addition, this solution contributes to increased safety by keeping high power levels and short-circuit levels outside the building. The thermal performance is also favorable: the busbars are not enclosed in compact plastic housings, allowing for better heat dissipation and limiting temperature rises.
This offers additional benefits in the context of the energy transition, where the demand for power is increasing significantly due to charging infrastructure, heat pumps, and battery storage.
